Lord Thiru Oneeswarar Temple which is present in Onambakkam is more than 2000 years old. The lingam is suyambu in nature. Recently the age old demolished Thiru Oneeswarar temple is reconstructed and consecration (Mahakumbabishekam) ceremony took place in April 2015.
