Designed by Bruce Price & deSibour, architect, ca. 1899. Garrett B. Linderman was the grandson of early railroad tycoon Asa Packer, and himself a financier with a finger in many pies from railroads to banking, with particular interests in LeHigh Valley Coal mines. He purchased this estate overlooking Hay Harbor in 1898, and razed the existing cottages in favor of this lively stone and shingle design by Bruce Price & Jules deSibour.
Linderman suffered severe financial losses in the panic of 1907, and in fact was sentenced to prison for his role in an attempt to corner the copper market that led to the panic, and the estate became the property of a receiver, the LeHigh National Bank, which sold it in 1918 to opera singer Alma Gluck, and her husband, the violinist Efrem Zimbalist, Sr.
