This is a great marvel of modern engineering for hydro-power generation. Water of Beas river is taken through Pandoh intake is diverted to Baggi power generation plant. From Baggi it flows in a canal to Sundarnagar intake to reach Satluj to generate more power. This may not be the exact direction, but these two points are connected. The tunnel is around 13.11 Km long and 7.62m in diameter.

13.1 km long Pandoh-Baggi tunnel that starts at Pandoh dam on Beas river falls into the open hydel channel at Khiuri village.

The BSL (Beas-Satluj Link) project has diverted 4,716 million cubic metres of Beas (or Vyas)river waters into the Sutlej through a 38 km long water conductor system comprising two tunnels and an open hydle channel. The open channel terminates in a big reservoir at Sundernagar from where the water gets into the Sundernagar-Slappar tunnel. The fall of the water into the Sutlej has been utilised for generating 990-MW hydle power in the Dehar power plant which is generating 1.5 crore units of power daily catering to the needs of the entire region.
