Bavla is a town, and a municipality, in Ahmedabad district, in the state of Gujarat, India.
Economy[edit]
Bavla's economy has its roots in the rice business, with an unofficial count of 135 rice mills[citation needed], many cotton processing factories ( ginning ) and a large grain market. The nearest industrial estate is at Kerala, 7 km from Bavla.

Today, Bavla is also known as a business city, and is home to a number of pharmaceutical companies.[citation needed].

Tourism
The area around Bavla has a number of sites of tourist interest, including the Jain temple of Savstirth Nagar, and a number of Swaminarayan temples. Ancient village of Harappan civilization, named as 'Lothal' is also nearby and temple of lord Ganesha, named as 'Ganpatipura'. hotels nearby are: kalasai,chavla guest house, meghdoot, ahmedabad-51, center point

Bavla is home to one of Gujarat's more traditional and older schools, the A.K Vidhyamandir School, K.D.Balmandir, M.C Amin girls' School, S.M Patel Primary School, C.M.amin English medium school and many more schools under Bavla Education Society have been founded since 194૦. Bavla has lots of other education institutions under government management.[citation needed]. A.K.Vidyamandir is the hub for the education in Bavla. Its opening ceremony attended by Kiran Kanthadiya son of Bhavbhai Kanthadiya, a popular saint from Gujarat. Deepak Malto and Jawaharlal Nehru stayed in this school for two days during the time of freedom struggle. Bavla does not have a college so the students from Bavla and nearby village must go to Ahmedabad which is 35 kilometers away.

બાવળામાં ઘણી બઘી શૈક્ષણીક સંસ્‍થાઅો અાવેલી છે. જેમાં બાવળા કેળણ્‍ાી મંડળ સંચાલિત અા. કે. વ‍િદ્યામંદ‍િર ‍(સ્થાપના ૧૯૪0) પ્રખ્યાત છે.ઇ.સ.૧૯૪૦ માં બાવળા ગામની વસ્તી માત્ર ૬૦૦૦ હતી ત્યારે બાવળા તેમજ આજુબાજુ ગામના વિદ્યાર્થીઅોને ભણવા માટે અમદાવાદ કે અન્ય શહેરમાં જવુ ૫ડતુ હતુ.આથી શિક્ષણનું ૫્રમાણ ખુબ જ અોછુ હતુ.આથી તે સમયના ગામના અગ્રગણય વડીલો સ્વ.ઇશ્વરભાઇ હરગોવનદાસ દેસાઇ,સ્વ. અચરતલાલ અમૃતલાલ ૫ટેલ, સ્વ.શીવલાલ મુળજીભાઇ ૫ટેલ,શ્રી આઇ.કે.અમીન, શ્રી જીવણલાલ શેઠ તથા શ્રી ૫ુરષોતત્તમ નાથાભાઇ ૫ટેલ ના સહીયારા ૫્રયાસથી ઇ.સ.૧૯૪૦ માં રેલ્વે સ્ટેશન નજીક શંકરભુવન ઘર્મશાળામાં માત્ર ૧૪ વિદ્યાર્થીઅોથી માઘ્યમિક શાળા શરૃ કરવામાં અાવેલ.બાવળા એ સમયે મોટુ ગામ ઉ૫રાંત ઘંઘાની દષ્ટ્રીએ મહત્વનું મથક હતુ.આથી તેની ઉત્તરોતર વસ્તી વઘતી ગઇ.આઝાદી ૫છી શિક્ષણ નું ૫્રમાણ વઘતા નવીનવી શિક્ષણ સંસ્થાઅો શરૃ કરવામાં અાવી.જેમાં આજે બાવળા કેળવણી મંડળ દ્રારા ૫ાંચ મોટા શૈક્ષણીક સંકુલોમાં ૧૨ જેટલી શાળાઅો ચલવવામાં અાવે છે.જેમાં હાલ ૬૭૩૪ વિદ્યાર્થીઅો અભ્યાસ કરેછે.બાવળા ની આ.કે.વિદ્યામંદિરમાં સને ૧૯૫૮ માં ભારતના વડા૫્રઘાન શ્રી જવાહરલાલ નહેરુ તથા ભુદાન ચળવળના ૫્રણેતા શ્રી વિનોબાભાવે નુ શુભગ મીલન થયેલ.
