299-foot, 32-story modernist hotel completed in 1998. Designed by Nobutaka Ashihara Associates, the tower is located on 39th Street, but recessed behind the building line above the ground floor, while a long, narrow, covered entry wing extends up to 40th Street where the main entrance is located. At the streetwall, it has framing red brick piers with a gold-colored metal marquee; projecting flagpoles extend from both piers. A pointed metal-and-glass canopy covers the walkway extending back through the block to the entrance doors of the hotel tower. The north facade, visible above and behind the entry walk, is clad in orange-red brick at the outer piers, except for the top five floors, which have white brick, and the floor directly below the white brick section, which is clad in dark-brown brick. The middle section of the lower floors is a dark yellow brick. There are two bays of square, punched windows. In between the windows, between floors, are panels of darker-colored brick with central, green brick highlights. Additional green brick ornament is located to the outside of each window.
The south facade on 39th Street is designed the same, only doubled, as it is twice as wide; a narrow vertical band of dark-brown brick separates the two halves. At the top is a mechanical floor is white brick and narrow vertical grooves. The ground floor extends out to the building line, clad in orange-red brick with a secondary entrance, large plate-glass window, and a service bay. There is a small canopy over the secondary entrance, and a band of small glass panels above and to the right of the large window. Above these doors and window, there are a series or horizontal grooves at both sides of the brickwork, each stretching a little further toward the center, creating the shape of a round-arch. The ground floor is capped by a stone coping.
The exposed upper part of the east elevation is clad in the same orange-red brick at the south end, with yellower brick alternating with stripes of brown-grey brick at the north end. The top floors have the same brown and then white brick as the north and south facades, and the row of vertical grooves at the top floor continues onto the east elevation. The hotel contains 244 guest rooms.
