Aatoor Tharavaad

This house was the epicentre of a huge family (Veliyatha Chembakootathil). After partition among the siblings, this house in the picture -also the "tharavadu veedu" went to my grandmother Late Mrs.Devakiamma.

This place, has a nice little temple inside it, with a great retro feel to it, with traditions still being followed year after year. Behind the temple is an unusual mango tree which apparently fell off during a storm, and grew with a large part of its trunk on the ground and then the tree taking off (as an L shape). There are strong root like wooden ropes(whatever you may want to call it, as my botany isnt real good) hanging from the tree , and I and my cousins would swing on these every year I visted my grandma during vacations. Good old days :)
