Originally constructed in 1901 as the Armstrong Cork Factory, this landmark structure will be artfully converted into 295 loft apartments. A 427-space parking garage and over 47,000 SF of retail shops will also be constructed on an adjacent lot. The buildings’ classic red brick façade, an historic silo, and engine room along other original details will be restored and incorporated into the re-development.

The Cork Factory is located on the Allegheny River in downtown Pittsburgh in the heart of the “Strip District”. The Strip District is a vibrant neighborhood with an eclectic mix of wholesale merchants, boutiques, sidewalk vendors, restaurants, night clubs, and loft residences as well as the exceptional gallery Society of Contemporary Craft and the world-class Heinz History Center.

The Cork Factory offers studios, one bedroom, two bedroom, and three bedroom units with large floor plans. The loft-style apartments features breathtaking riverfront views, 14 foot exposed ceilings, and washer/dryer sets in each unit. Select units will contain stainless steel sinks, garden-style tubs, and exposed brick walls. Among the numerous amenities to be offered are a private party room in the restored engine room, a fitness room with state- of-the-art equipment, a 24-hour business center, and a conference room
