Home of the Detroit Pistons from 1961 until 1978, Cobo Arena also hosted many noteworthy concerts. It seated 12,191 and was also the site of the infamous attack on figure skater Nancy Kerrigan in January 1994 by the ex-husband of rival skater Tanya Harding.
Kiss Alive! and Bob Seger's Live Bullet albums were recorded here, only a few months apart in 1975.
The Arena closed in 2010 and the space was converted to additional conference facilities for Cobo Center.
