Since the closure of the South Platte Elementary (or Brule) School (2002) its facilities were bought by the Brule Community Center Association (BCCA), which functions as a managing body. The facility was donated to the Brule Fire Protection District to be legal owner while the BCCA remains as the managing entity. Most of the areas of the facility are rented out. One of the renters is the Village of Brule for its office.
