Canada and Bolivia established diplomatic ties in 1961 when Alfred John Pick, Ambassador of Canada to Peru, was accredited to Bolivia. Since then Canadian ambassadors to Peru, based in Lima have responsibility for Canada’s relations in Bolivia.

Today the Canadian Embassy in Peru and the Embassy of Canada Program Office in Bolivia continue working to expand and strengthen the bilateral relationship.
