The founder of this pharmacy (including Bradley Health Services) Dr. Joseph "Doc" W. Bradley (full name Dr. Joseph "Doc" Wilson Bradley, born June 17, 1923 in Westmoreland, Tennessee) has passed away on March 10, 2015 at age 91. He served in the US Army in 1942 during World War II and served 2 years in Europe, receiving numerous metals and citations, receiving his honorable discharge as a Staff Sergeant. After service in the army, he entered pharmacy school, graduating from Ole Miss in 1951.

Dr. Bradley worked at local pharmacies in Nashville until February 1963, when he established his own Bradley Drug Company here at this location at 52nd and Charlotte.
