Berrugate Island

Located in the marshy tidal estuary of the Tempisque as it enters the Gulf of Nicoya, Berrugate's shores expand and contract with the rise and fall of the waters. The eastern portion is permanently above the high-water mark but the western end is intermittently submerged.
