144-foot, 13-story hotel completed in 1931. Designed by Thomas W. Lamb, it opened as the Pickwick Arms, and was converted to the first Pod Hotel in 2005. This type of lodging usually features a series of modular "rooms" that are just big enough to accommodate one person. The front facade is clad in dark-red brick above a 2-story limestone base. The ground floor has a modernized central entrance with glass double-doors below a white metal canopy, and is flanked by storefront; the western one is black metal-and-glass, and the eastern one is faced in pale yellow stone, wood, and glass.
The 2nd floor (and the upper floors above) have a central bay of small bathroom windows flanked by single-windows; to either side are another bay of single-windows, a bay of small bathroom windows, and two more bays of single-windows. The windows all have stone sills and brick lintels, and the piers are slightly projecting, delineated by quoin-like lines of darker-colored brick on the upper floors. The 2nd floor is capped by a band course with dentils at the center and ends, and a pair of projecting flagpoles are mounted at the top of the 3rd floor on the piers framing the center section.
The end bays set back above the 11th floor, with the next three bays in setting back above the 10th. The two bays of single-windows in the center section (the small bathroom windows end at the 10th floor) extend up to the 13th floor, where they are crowned by a double gable with copper coping. The top floors of the set-back end backs extend up to a flat roof line with a large water tower and brick chimney. There is also a large roof deck at the rear part of the building.
The west and east side elevations are clad in dark-red brick at the fronts, and beige brick across the rest of the surface. Each side has a large, central light well. There are two bays of single-windows in front of and behind the light wells, and further single-windows on the interior walls of the light wells. The ground floor is occupied by Clinton Hall restaurant & bar, and Vin Sur Vingt restaurant.
