The Intrepid Wind Farm is located in Sac and Buena Vista counties, both north and south of Schaller in north-west Iowa. It consists of 107 GE Energy 1.5s 1500-kW wind turbines (commissioned in 2004) and 15 Mitsubishi MWT-1000-61 1000-kW turbines (2005). In total the 122 turbines have a generating capacity of 175.5 megawatts of electricity.

The 15 phase 2 turbines (labelled as "Intrepid 2" on the map) are intermingled with the phase 1 turbines, but 'tend to' the western side of the wind farm.
