  • Pattom Thanu Pillai, then chief minister of Kerala in the year 1960 visited near by place where the present polytechnic stands now and might had commented the dust of this factory (institution) may increase the industrial aptitude of the students in the future.He was a visionary. my bread and butter was drawn from the salary of my father employed by this great Institution and I was one the rank holders of the POLYTECHNIC in the year1961-64.I still feel the sweet fragrance of the burning shells of Vembanadu Lake.
