This place was the abode of Datu Mamundug Apay Mauday since time immemorial. The land is belonged to him. He dominated and preserved this land, where he planted the Famous Century Durian in Sitio Quiapo. Quiapo was a Barangay of the Municipality of Tagoloan in Lanao del Sur under P.D. 1548 dated June 11, 1978, but then affected by E.O. No. 108, S. 1986 and became a Sitio of Barangay Bantalan (Bantalain) this municipality.

Datu Mamundug Apay Mauday was buried in this place. He was the father of the late Bae Ladiyawan Pinanggao Mamundug (wife of late Pungguina-guina Minoy Talina Alamada, the grandson of Datu Maricor).

This place is popularly known as "Quiapo". The word "Quiapo" is composed of two Maranao terms connected together. "Qui" or "ki" which literally meaning as, " to" or "for", referring to someone or something else, while the word "apo" in maranao referring to grandfather, ancestor or forefather, either male or female. The words Ki-apo and Qui-apo are the same in meaning and interpretation, which simply means as, "for" forefather or ancestor" or "to" forefather or ancestor", which is attributed to Datu Mamundug Apay Mauday.
