Folger Shakespeare Library is a center for scholarship, learning, culture, and the arts. It is home to the world’s largest Shakespeare collection and a primary repository for rare materials from the period of 1500–1750. The library was designed in 1929 in the Art Deco style by Phillipe Cret with Alexander B. Trowbridge with a Tudor Revival interior. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
