Charles E. Redfern, jeweler and politician, served two terms as mayor for the City of Victoria, B.C.; 1882-83, 1896-99. He is buried in Ross Bay Cemetery on Fairfield Road in Victoria.
This triangle-shaped one-fifth of a hectare parkland has a granite boulder engraved to commemorate his accomplishment. The park is in the community of James Bay near the junction of Montreal and Quebec Streets. Several mature London plane and ornamental plum trees provide shade to benches in this park.
