Phosphate mineral is pumped North 95 miles from a mine near Vernal, Utah. Union Pacific Railroad brings in sulfer reclaimed from oil and gas wells in the area as well as ammonia made from natural gas. Both liquid and solid forms of phosphate fertilizers and chemicals are produced and shipped out by rail.
