    Noorand is a beautiful place with many salient features. Asia's biggest Leprosy Sanatorium is here. The classic film Aswamedham was entirely shot inside this Sanatorium. Renowned Director Adoor Gopalakrishnan's KadhaPurushan was shot in Nooranad. CBM High School,the biggest and oldest school in the region is now in the top chart with the highest strength in Allepy district with about 2500 students and highest success rate in SSLC Exams. Nooranad is famous for its Natural Bird Sanctuary also.

    Namaskaram to everyone! When we talk about Nooranad, we cannot forget a few personalities. I studied in Padanilam High School, passed during 1967; SSLC result was very bad, manorama wrote an article "pinnilaya schoolukalue munnil-padanilam HS; 21 only passed out of 210 appeared. Now I really appreciate; the school having SBSC syllabas and good results. I take this opportunity to remember Late Eravankara Gopala Kurup Sir, Late Govinda Pillai Sir, Late Laxmanan Sir, Madhaviamma Sir, Raghavanpilla Sir, Karunakaranpillai Sir, Potty Sir, Unnithan Sir, Seethalaxmi Sir, Janarthanan Pillai Sir. Asari Sir, Bharathiamma Sir, Sivaramapillai Sir.. Also remember the school's annual festival where Teacher's drama was conducted and it was superb.
