The current space is now a clothing and souvenir shop, opened around mid 1993.

The second floor of the building was torn down around the 1980's, it was remodeled into a tudor-style rooftop. A non-functional bell tower was constructed on top of the middle of the building's western end (located along Superior Street).

Between April 8 and early-Summer 2014, a 25 ft. × 15 ft. mural was painted on the exterior wall near the southern end of this building, which is located along Superior Street. It is a "Hero of the Red River" mural which depicts Lieutenant Colonel (or General) Joseph Bailey (born May 6, 1825 near Pennsville, Ohio – died March 21, 1867 near Nevada, Missouri) and his outstanding victory during the Civil War. He is credited with saving the Union Fleet in 1864 at Louisiana's Red River in saving the Union fleet by the ingenious feat of building a dam (located in the cities of Alexandria and Pineville) to raise the level of the river and then opening the dam to free the ships. It also includes a por zootrait of Bailey, his biography, his deeds, and an eagle carrying a "Fourth Wisconsin Cavalry" banner along with the number "1864" (the year he served as an engineer with the Union Army in the XIX Corps) below, as well as a rendition of a ship being saved. It was painted by Jeff Graft and commissioned by Bud Gussel (born April 27, 1930 in Stevens Point – died April 17, 2021 in Wisconsin Dells). It has replaced the previous wooden mural of a Wisconsin Dells area church services information board, which was installed in the 2000's. That mural was relocated to the exterior wall of the southern end of the Native Sun Resortwear & Gifts building, which is located along Oak Street.

General Joseph Bailey was one of the founders of Wisconsin Dells (was Kilbourn during that time), he completed the first dam across the Wisconsin River here in 1859. However, it was considered a failure after three men in the lumber raft business died at the dam. As a result, the dam was dismantled in 1860. His dream to build an industrial city based on water power didn't become a reality until 1906 when the present dam was built.
