Opened on January 15, 1949 by Arnold Borcher and his family, Winnebago Gift Shop or simply The Winnebago, as our friends and long-time customers like to call us, is a landmark store in the heart of the downtown river shopping district in Wisconsin Dells. We’ve been family-run since its grand opening. Three generations of the Borcher family welcoming as many generations of families who have made The Winnebago their "must-stop" destination for fine goods and gifts, and especially for Minnetonka moccasins.

We’re located in a historic building, built around 1860, offering proof positive that classic and contemporary do pair quite nicely. We’re one of the country’s oldest and largest retailers of beloved Minnetonkas, yet our store also offers a mix of retro-cool décor, casually hip clothes, rugged urban boots for men and women, authentic Native American pieces sourced directly from the artisans themselves, pretty jewelry, and intriguing giftables. 🎁🥾👢🎍💍💎🪙

In other words, we’re unexpected in a really good way.

The store changed ownership in July 2017 to Bridget Trumble-Galley and Tara Borck-Anchor, two friends who were both born and raised in Wisconsin Dells. These two female entrepreneurs really love their hometown and felt that the downtown Dells retail district was the perfect home for their vision of an entirely new type of shopping experience in the Dells. In essence, the new Winnebago Gift Shop was created.
