This was originally the Charlie McCleary Tennis Center, which featured 16 courts along Jefferson Avenue. In 2007, eight of the courts (now abandoned) became a skatepark, which was initially popular but attendance dropped as the asphalt continued to deteriorate. In the early 2010s, the park closed for renovations. 14th Street and Jefferson were closed and additional land was assembled (including a gas station site). The new park featured a full concrete skate park, a basketball court, and green space, though the final product would only include two tennis courts by the end.
