Yankee Jim Canyon is a short, narrow canyon on the Yellowstone River about 13 miles north of Yellowstone Park. Yankee Jim Canyon is best known for its whitewater floating as it offers the largest rapids on the Yellowstone River outside of Yellowstone Park.
James “Yankee Jim” George was a squatter and an early road builder in Montana.
