In January of 2014, CEN Biotech announced the construction of a new 58,000 sq. ft. facility to produce medical marijuana in accordance with the new Government of Canada medical marijuana legislation. In 2014 construction of the main facility and a double perimeter fence along the outside property line proceeded, giving the appearance of a small jail or penitentiary.
In February of 2015, Health Canada denied its application for a Producers license to grow medical marijuana and CEN Biotech has commenced legal action.
