Sculptures of Dante Alighieri and an eagle together with three benches of a chimeric shape were opened on July 21, 2015.
Sculptor: Luciano Massari.
Preparatory work on the location was carried out by the Ukrainian architect Leonid Malyi.
2015 marks the 750th anniversary of Dante Alighieri's birth.
The Embassy of Italy in Ukraine decided to present these sculptures to the people of Kyiv due to this date.
The place for the monument was chosen personally by the Italian ambassador in Ukraine.
Funds for the monument were given by Ukrainian and Italian businessmen.
