[ Independence Square ]

Previously known as Khreshchatyk, Duma, Soviet, Kalinin and October Revolution Squares.
Originally formed by the Pechersk gates of ancient Kyiv, it was rebuilt several times throughout history, especially post-war (WWII), where it became the central feature of Alexander Dobrovolskyi's project, thereby becoming one of the famous landmarks of Stalinist Architecture.
