The Servicemens Living Quarters & Base Recreation Area are located on the Southern portion of RAF Mount Pleasant and comprise the main dormitory and recreation facilities for military personnel and their families assigned to British Forces South Atlantic Islands. Split between the Northern dormitory blocks and the Southern married servicemen and Officers quarters, the complex features a wide range of social and sporting facilities including a gym, swimming pool, golf course, diving centre, karting, laserquest, library, cinema, bowling, climbing wall and indoor and outdoor sports pitches, including the only cricket ground in the Falklands. There are two NAAFI shops, hairdressers, a medical centre, an education centre and a live BFBS Radio station on the site.

In an effort to shield its occupants from the often harsh weather conditions, the entire Northern dormitory complex is linked by the world's indoor longest corridor, which at half a mile (800 m) long has earned the nickname "Death Star Corridor" from station by personnel .
