This ancient fortress of the Abbey-Princes of Stavelot and former lair of the terrible “Sangliers des Ardennes” (Wild-boar of the Ardennes), was destroyed on May 1, 1521 by the troops of the Emperor Charles Quint.
Major archaeological excavations and restoration works sponsored by the Ministery of the Walloon Region are still underway.
Treasure Hunt Groups of 20 people or more can enhance their visit with an exciting treasure hunt at the site of the ruins. Using 6 enigmas, you must find the treasure of the Golden Goat.
