Public open terrace with much of the history of Caversham displayed as has kept room foundations and visitor panels of an early Georgian grand manor house with raised herb, rose and eclectic flower garden. Due to height has good views (direct sloping terraces) to the Thames unusual below Reading but seen at Danesfield in Medmenham and even more with the 172 steps down at Cliveden towards the river - both in Buckinghamshire. The other terraces of the Thames are at Richmond (including Richmond Hill) and at Shooters Hill, London. Upstream more dramatic natural terraces are seen at the Goring Gap in the part-medieval village of Goring-on-Thames in Oxfordshire and Streatley in Berkshire which share a railway station.
