  When I visited on 2011-03-28 from 1630-dusk, there were plenty of pheasants and quails in the surrounding land, the sound of pheasants was clearly audible throughout the whole wood, and there were a lot of deer of at least two species (muntjac and a more traditional sort I believe). In the North end of the wood near the path toward Hard-To-Find Farm, there is a very tall rusting steel scaffold attached to a tree which is quite mysterious.
