Mandava House was designed by its owner Chalapathi Raju Kalidindi and architect Madhusudan Perur using Indian and European architectural themes. Gardens were designed by the owner and landscape architect Naveen Penuganti.

Spread over 5.5 acres, the House and its annex were built during 2010-2015. Mandava House, with a large courtyard, incorporated elements from such houses mainly from Godavari districts of Andhra Pradesh. With Greek Doric stone columns, Roman arches, teak wood french windows, structures in the compound incorporated several elements from the European architecture (especially neoclassical or Louis XV architecture).

The gardens at Mandava House are unique in India with English and French formal garden styles. White sandstone (or mint stone) was extensively used in the gardens. The gardens have a variety of plants from India and abroad (including East Asia, Australia, Africa, and Latin America).
