Tangy wind farm is located on the west coast of the Kintyre peninsula, about 9 km northwest of Cambeltown, Argyll and Bute, Scotland. Commissioned first in 2004, it consists of 22 Vestas V52/850 wind turbines with a combined nominal capacity of 18.7 MW.
The existing site is expected to remain in operation until 2022, although permission has been granted (2015) to 'repower' the wind farm by replacing (over an extended area) the existing turbines with 15 newer and more powerful units.
