In wetter times, this area served as the Pierce Ferry Launch ramp. In 1992, the lg dark green area east and north of the ramp was still a bay, albeit only about 6" to 12" deep.

In October of 1992, we were able to launch Sea Doo's here, and after walking out into the bay 300-400', we were able to find a place deep enough to bring the Sea Doos up to plane and Sea Doo north a mile or so out to the Colorado River.
