At the center of the village, next to the church, there is a Venetian tower. During the Turkish occupation, the Turk local lord, with the title "Kadi", lived there, hence the name of the village.
The Venetians had become the rulers of the Frankish territory of Chalkis since 1383. Until the end of their rule in 1470, when the Ottomans came, they constructed many towers like this in the area.
