This is the boundary for Mining Licence (“ML”) 2008/6L for the Karowe Diamond Mine issued in terms of the Botswana Mines and Minerals Act 1999, Part VI, and covers 1,523.0634 ha. Karowe is owned by Lucara Diamond Corp through its 100% owned subsidiary Boteti Mining (Pty) Ltd (“Boteti”). Karowe mines the AK6 pipe and was formerly known as “the AK6 Kimberlite Project” and the “Boteti Project”. It commenced operations in April 2012 with a projected life of mine of at least 13 years.
The Mine plan was based on Probable reserves to a depth of 324 m of 33.1 mt containing 5.1 million carats with remaining Indicated resource from surface to a depth of 400 m of 48.07 mt containing 7.61 million carats. There is an Inferred resource from 400 m to 750 m of 21 mt containing 3.04 million carats.
