  • My wife was a widow when we married and is the sister in law of your Mother Therese, who was born in Co. Leitram, Eire and hs been in Enbtally since 1948. I had the pleasure of staying as a guest in October/November 2006. I was made most welcome by everyone. I say the rosary most days and offer up the 5th decade for our beloved Mother Therese, sisters, priests, teachers, helpers and pupils. At the request of Sister Einthe, I had the pleasure of teaching spoken English to 19 young ladies who were hoping to be admitted to your Order. I stayed for 2 weeks. I used the old English way of teaching spoken English, symphonic phonetics, and was amazed at the speed by which each student mastered the basics. I was sorry that I had to leave. Had it not been for a serious health problem, I would have accepted Sister's invitation to have stayed on for a few more months. Unfortunately, the Indian Consulate in England will not issue a viza for longer than 6 months from the date of issue, even when we do work on a strictly voluntary basis. I have some commitments here in England and as soon as they have been resolved, I will be free to travel to India again. I look forward to meeting each one of you and to enjoy your friendship Back in England I do not tolerate anyone who criticizes you Indian people. If anyone dares to act like a bigot, I soon make remarks like "if only you were as well educated as the Indian people I met and more particularly if onlly you had their manners, etiquete and decorum you would not be as ignorant as you present yourelf to me."
  • Hi Shirley, I remember you very well even though you were Senior to me. Just describing you.......you were very healthy chubby with curly hair and some spots on your face (freckles) The nuns you have mentioned is absolutley right. Have you forgotten mother Borja, Etna, Burkman(boxer)Elizabeth & Francis Michael. I'm so happy to come across this page by accident because I'm desperately trying to find my class mates. I'm also very happy that you are in USA (where) God Bless you and I hope you get this mail. My ID is mission_600@hotmail.com
