1899_construction, Grade II Listed (UK), swing bridge
Named after the France-Hayhurst family of Bostock Hall. A swing bridge, Hayhurst Bridge was built in 1898 across the Weaver at Northwich. The bridges were the first two electrically-powered swing bridges in Great Britain (the other one was Town Bridge) and were built on floating pontoons to counteract the mine subsidence. They were designed by Colonel John Saner.
Hayhurst Bridge is the first electrically operated swing bridge in UK.
