It is ironic to find that even after so many decades this iconic place didn\\\'t count on someone\\\'s wisdom. Though this landmark temple is almost at the center of the entire n.f.railway. Head-quarter conclave, but it is older than the n.f.railway. Itself. It is even older than the n.e.railway. From which n.f.railway. Got its identity. This holy temple was probably earmarked for this place from time immemorial, but was geographically identified from the time of Assam-Bengal-Railway(a.b.rly.) When the surrounding area was in the process of transition from a 2nd w.w. military camp to a rehabilitation rly.colony. A meager bamboo-hut with thatched roof was all that was then known as \\\'Pandu Kalibari\\\'. Benimadhav Chakraborty\\\'s father was the first priest of this temple. Mother Goddess Kali - the all pervading \\\'Karunamayee\\\' - the eternal witness of the cosmic entity, \\\"she\\\" blessed one and all to witness & withstand so-many geopolitical changes that overcome that entire area. The temple was in fact at the core of all activities there. The neighboring \\\'Bidyamandir\\\' school had its root at the \\\'mandap\\\' of this temple. Today\\\'s beautiful & sprawling temple complex was inaugurated by the then chef minister of Assam - Mr. Sarat Chanrda Sinha.
