Boulder Peak, elevation 8299 ft asl, is the highest peak in the Marble Mountain Wilderness. Glaciers carved the cirque valleys now holding Wright Lake and Second Creek. The mountain can be accessed from the Boulder Creek, Big Meadows, or Shackleford Creek trailheads, although all routes involve several miles of hiking and substantial elevation gain. There is no trail to the summit, but the climb is not considered technically challenging.
