Archeological site that includes remnants of a French & Indian War fortification built under the supervision of George Washington between 1756 and 1758. A well and parts of the original bastion can be seen within the house at 419 North Loudoun Street, and the street itself covers part of where the fort originally stood. The site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
