Vardanakert was old Armenian town in Vardanakert district of Paytakaran province of the Kingdom of Armenia. Were prominent by its temple named Yotnporakan Bagink laying to the east of the city. Ceased to exist at 16th century A.D. Later the Persian village of Altan founded near the ruines of the Vardanakert.
