Part of Puthenpeedika, this area was known for the family which offered ayurvedic medicines for those who suffered from Jaundice (yellow fever). They never asked for a fee in return but accepted whatever you thought you can pay them. The medicine was a secret concoction of some leaves which was never prepared and kept in stock. As soon as a patient is reported, the person who knows the medicinal plants will go out to pluck the leaves and roots required and he will crush them together to make balls small enough to swallow.
