Swiss-Italian immigrant Noe Tognazinni started homesteading this parcel in 1896 and it was owned by the Tognazinni family until it was purchased as part of the Point Sal Reserve proect. Although the original cabin burned down in 1960, the eucalyptus windrows serve as critical habitat for monarch butterflies.
