The Cathedral of Fossombrone (PU), already in the Citadel, was moved in 1391 in the Benedictine Convent of St. Maurenzio. In the course of the '500 and '600, the building was extended and embellished with numerous chapels, including the one truly valuable of the Blessed Sacrament.
In the eighteenth century it was decided to demolish edificarne for a larger, by rotating the axis of 90 degrees. The draft Sante Morelli was built in the years 1772-1784, with speeches prepared by the architect Giambattista modifiers of the King
