Armenian Apostolic church, historical layer / disappeared object

Surb Karapet of Abrakunis (Armenian: Ապրակունիսի Սուրբ Կարապետ վանք, meaning: St. John Babtist's monastery) was Armenian monastic complex at the hill in Abrrakunis village of Nakhichevan region. Last Armenians were deported in 1988. So this monument left unattended and unprotected. At June 1991 Azerbaijani troops mine it and then blown up. This was medieval Armenian monastic complex that also for many centuries functioned as school and the repository of ancient manuscripts. Today no trace of it remain, it shared fate of about thousand other Armenian monuments left in Nakhichevan region. Today the power of this autonomy fiercely deny facts of mass vandalism and other manifestations of hostility to civilization. Simultaneously justifying this vandalism, they refer to the alleged Armenian vandalism against many non-existent "numerous Turkish mosques" in Armenia.
