The Sanctuary keeps an icon of the "Madonna della Rocca", subject of veneration for local believers. The building raises 350 meters on the sea-level, near an oak tree (lately fallen due to a rainstorm) according to the legend coming even from the Holy Land. The present church is composed of a medieval core, probably a chapel or a little church existing before the Sanctuary itself and some structures of the late seventeen century, added to the primitive contruction. After a suffered history of sacks, destructions, restores and embellishment it is now left to the cares of the "Suore Missionarie dell'Immacolata", a little bunch of nuns.
