Uttan Vashi this place is an island.There is no human being on this island. Its full of rocks and few places there is sand. There is only one tree on this island so who ever goes on this island will take shelter under this tree. To go to this island u will have to travel by boat which is a 30 to 45 min ride.

  • Similar to Uttan Vashi, there is Gorai Vashi and Vasai Vashi (Bassein Vashi). These are tiny uninhabited islands about 1.5 to 2.5 Kms from the land. Gorai Vashi has a Christian Cross which is visited annually by the Gorai folks during month of May. I have heard that the Uttan Vashi has some Cross or mini Chapel.

  • The two days of heavy rain in Mumbai this year (2017), I was trying to book a cab to get to the airport. There were no cabs available. I was getting bored so I just started roaming around in the map itself, when I found this island doing nothing in the middle of nowhere. I zoomed in and put my pickup location there. Didn't wait to see what happened next, but that's how I discovered Uttan Vashi.
