The parish church is located in the historic center of the town of Cannara (PG), in the western part.

Of fourteenth century, was transformed into its current form during the years 1788 - 1793 according to the design of an architect Joseph Brizi Assisi. The steeple spire, partially collapsed after the earthquake of 1832, it was rebuilt with the current terminal shell Eng. Domenico Martinangeli of Cannock in 1860. Inside is exposed to an interesting table of Nicolò di Liberatore, said the Pupil, depicting the Madonna Enthroned with the Christ Child between St. Francis and St. Matthew the Evangelist.
