This place had the first post office from 1964 to 1980 and provided cover from Mandwa in North to Chondhi in south. The post office had a PIN 402205 which is now out of circulation as the current post office is reduced to an extension counter. The post office had a telephone for booking calls through Alibag & passing of urgent telegrams. The Post office operated from the front room of the house of Shri Ramachandra Vishnu Joshi. The foundation of the house is still where it was however the earthen walls have given way to cement structure with few modifications.
